Our Specialty Areas
What is intuitive eating, and how can it improve my relationship with food?
Intuitive eating is a weight-inclusive, evidence-based framework that promotes a healthy relationship with food. Developed by dietitians Evelyn Tribole and Elyse Resch, the intuitive eating principles are designed to help you heal from the negative effects of chronic dieting and restrictive eating patterns. Exploring topics such as recognizing and honoring your body’s appetite cues, unlearning food rules, navigating emotional eating, respecting your body and gentle nutrition will foster a relationship with food that supports your physical and mental wellbeing.
How can nutrition counseling help manage eating disorders?
Nutrition counseling is a vital component of eating disorder recovery. Working with a dietitian for eating disorder treatment will aid in normalizing eating patterns, achieving a stable body weight and improving one’s relationship with food, which are crucial steps towards long-term recovery. Nutrition support for eating disorders involves education on nutrition needs, meal planning guidance, and individualized advice and goal setting tailored towards one’s specific condition and recovery goals.
What are the best dietary strategies for managing chronic conditions like diabetes or kidney disease?
Nutrition is not one-size-fits-all, therefore, it’s best to collaborate with a registered dietitian who can tailor your nutrition plan with consideration of your individual needs and preferences. Working with a dietitian who has expertise in kidney disease or diabetes nutrition is the best way to determine the most effective dietary strategies for each person individually.
How can nutrition support heart health and prevent cardiovascular diseases?
A heart-healthy diet can help with blood pressure control and cholesterol management. Long-term, a heart-healthy diet can help with cardiovascular disease prevention. The dietitians at Life Cycle Nutrition in Omaha can help you make realistic, sustainable changes to promote a heart-healthy eating pattern.

What nutrition approaches can help with digestive health and gastrointestinal disorders?
Nutrition strategies for digestive health and gastrointestinal disorders are highly individualized based on each person’s condition and situation. A low-FODMAP diet is one approach that can be utilized for people focusing on IBS nutrition. It’s important to consult with a healthcare professional and registered dietitian before implementing dietary strategies for gut health or food intolerances, especially for those with specific gastrointestinal conditions.
