Experience
Amy studied food and nutrition at the University of Idaho. In her 25 years as a dietitian, she has worked in numerous areas of healthcare including dialysis, home health, and private practice. Her passion for kidney nutrition blossomed while working in the dialysis unit. It was there that she realized her passion to help individuals use nutrition as an intervention to delay progression of kidney disease.
Working alongside fellow dietitians at Kidney Nutrition Institute has allowed Amy to stay updated on the latest research and advancements in kidney nutrition to ensure her patients receive cutting-edge, evidence based guidelines.
About Me
Hi, I’m Amy. I’m a renal expert and a certified mind body nutrition coach who loves teaching and helping my patients solve problems to achieve kidney health.
The kidneys are so fascinating to me because of their diverse roles in maintaining balance in the body. I especially love being a renal dietitian because it is very rewarding to see real changes and improvements result from food and nutrition changes.
I’m originally from Washington State. Lincoln, Nebraska is where I have called home for the past 15 years. While I miss the scenery in the pacific northwest, I appreciate the good people of the Midwest! In my free time, I enjoys hiking in the mountains, serving in my church, and singing.
My strengths are in making connections with people and working together to come up with practical solutions for better health. Each person’s goals are unique and important to me and my goal is to help them achieve their own vision of health success.
I strive to live out this motto from Theodore Roosevelt, “people don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.”
Sincerely,
Amy
